Recycling & General Waste - Bute & Cowal - 05.09.2024

Due to a vehicle issue we've not been able to collect bins on South Campbell Road, Bute and Cowal. The bins will now be collected on Wednesday 11th September.
Glass Collection - Mull - 04.09.2024
Due to a vehicle breakdown, the scheduled collection of glass at Duart Craignure was not uplifted on 4th September 2024. The glass collection will now be carried out on Friday 6th September. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Mixed Recycling - Mull - 03.09.2024
Due to an issue with the collection vehicle, the scheduled collection of mixed recycling for Fionnphort – Iona will not take place. Please leave your bin at it's collection point and we will look to provide a further update when the next collection will take place. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
EV Charging Network - Faults - 02.09.2024
Electric Vehicle Charger Faults:
We have some faults across our network of 37 EV chargers at the moment. We are working with our maintenance contractors to have these repaired as soon as possible.
The faults and some details are listed below. You can see the full range of publicly available chargers in °ÄÃÅ×î×¼ËIJ»Ïñ and Bute (not just those operated by the Council) on the Charge Place Scotland website here:
• 53517 Tiree Ferry Terminal – an engineer is due onsite mid Sept to repair this fault, please note this date is subject to change if there are ferry disruptions. Unfortunately, there are no other Council chargers at this site, but all public chargers can be found via the Charge Place Scotland website using the link above.
• 51143 The Columba Centre, Fionnphort, Mull – an engineer is due onsite week beginning 9/9/24 to repair this fault. Unfortunately, there are no other Council chargers at this site, but all public chargers can be found via the Charge Place Scotland website using the link above.
• 60104 Ledaig Car Park, Mull – an engineer is due onsite week beginning 9/9/24 to repair this fault. Unfortunately, there are no other Council chargers at this site but all public chargers can be found via the Charge Place Scotland website using the link above.
• 61622 Corran Halls Public Car Park – the engineer has ordered parts and will be scheduled to attend once they are received. There is an another EVC available at this site.
• 61720 Coal Pier Dunoon – an engineer has been scheduled to attend 2/09/24. There is an another EVC available at this site.
Mixed Recycling - Mull - 02.09.2024
Due to an issue with the uplift vehicle, the scheduled collection of mixed recycling did not take place in Dervaig, Calgary & Salen. Please take your bin back in from the collection point and we will look to keep you updated on when the next collection will take place. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Tiree recycling collections 28.08.24
Route 1 (West) recycling collections on Tiree are delayed today due a vehicle breakdown.
Please leave your blue bin at its collection point for crews to attend
A819 Electric Cottage - April 2024
Following previous works being halted due to severe weather damage to our roads and bridges infrastructure, October 2023 we were later able to re-start works on the A819 Electric Cottage. This is essential works to improve our road network.
Works recommenced on Monday 13 November 2023 at Electric Cottage under the control of traffic lights. PH 3 of the works dealt with the southern section of the scheme , excavating rock faces and filling embankments to re-align and widen the carriageway, along with associated improvements in roadside drainage and culverts.
Work continues under traffic light control at Electric Cottage to Inveraray - April 2024 - to complete re-alignment and widening of southern section to form a temporary running surface, under 2-way traffic .
Phase 4 widening scheduled to follow-on May - August 2024 to complete the widening and re-alignment of the section northwards, including the extension or replacement of culverts under the carriageway. Temporary traffic control by traffic lights, will be in place past the works.
